i played tic-tac-toe (if thats what you call of a game with 9 drawn boxes and 2 players play with each having own symbol - simple saying a circle or a cross mark, and that the mission is to get a 3-boxes row with all your symbols IN) with my bro last night. and what i just thought is that, we have never been as innocently genius (genius without being realized ;p) as when we were kids.i could still recall the moments when i was a primary school student, when post exam school days were euphoria-ful days for all of us
(unlike now in college when we were then busy worrying out what we'll be getting for exam results).
Last time in primary school, at the end of the year after exam, some of us will bring some board games, but mostly didn't. what we were obsessed on were the kepong game, tic-tac-toe, and the "name, tempat" game. ala, dont tell me you dont know those games!
the name tempat game is a game that requires at least 2 players. players are supposed to decide on a specific alphabet for each round and supposed to fill some examples in some columns provided in accordance to the categories. Among the common columns prepared are name, country, food, artist, and bla bla bla (god knows what other creative categories we could think of that time!). i can still recall that at the end of each round, whoever having the same thing filled in their column with another person shall be getting 50 marks while those with no same filling as any of the other players deserve 100 full marks.
we were so excited playing those at that point in time. and most importantly, all it costs us are some papers that we can easily tear out from our school exercise books (takpe, dah akhir tahun. tahun depan gune buku baru. hee :D) . can u see it? we were used of having fun with no cost! but look at us now-, we are turning into a horrible spending monster! we need money to have fun as we grow older. kids are pure genius. on the other hand, when a grown-up thinks of having fun, he wont be thinking of grabbing a paper and a pencil.
EVERYONE, we WERE sheer
