The Date and the Delay
What might work to refresh a worn-out heart is to hear about the sahabah.
In the War of Badr, a sahabah (Umayr bin Al-Humam) was about to eat a date. Upon hearing about the paradise, he did not continue eating the date and quickly jumped into the battlefield. Sahabah, they are scared to even let a small date delay their journey to Allah and His paradise.
And dear girl, just how many dates you are having?

Secrets
"Why are you keeping secrets?"
"By default, things are secrets"
"Disagreed"
"Which one is default, silence or noise?"
"If all things are silent by default, there is no such thing as an awkward silence. Some things are meant to be voiced out"
. . .
you're one of that few, mate.

The Fuel
Relationship with Allah is a relationship that transcends many boundaries. Including ego.
The fuel comes from Him can't you see, Nana? Because you are an Abid. And He can give you the fuel to become the Khalifah.
Ps: But I've learned for the past few years, that my siblings don't mind my vulnerability. People whom you care about cares about you too. Actually, no one is asking you to be perfect, Na. Masalah anak muda zaman sekarang barangkali.
A relationship that fuels other relationships.
With certain people, we wish not to be seen as vulnerable. We hide our weaknesses and we do all we can to show that we are fine.
I feel this especially with my siblings.
There is a need to show them a good standard.
A responsibility to set them the benchmark.
A wish to teach them the meaning of life (yet they actually have taught me more).
And somehow it becomes a perfect motivation to keep me going.
And a perfect reason why I need to man up and not to appear weak. Ego ey?

(Hi Ain, Haziq, Azim lalala, I'm writing this cause you don't know my blog)
I think everyone has those people whom they wish to live up to their expectation if not to exceed,
those special people whom they care so much that they want to give and don't mind not receiving,
those someones whom they'd like to protect within their capacity of a human being.
those people who seboleh-bolehnya we'd like to appear perfect.
Be it a parent to a child, a child to a parent, a husband to a wife, an older sibling to the younger, et cetera.

It is beautiful. It is a fitrah that leads to sacrifice and is a manifestation of love. It is what leads to the chain of human inter-dependence. What leads to roles.
But.
We are human beings. We know we are not perfect. We are vulnerable and fragile. Sometimes, we just want to lie on the bed and do nothing. Sometimes, we just want to sigh or cry. Sometimes, we need comfort and not further challenges. Sometimes we are slacking just because we are human being, and slacking is our middle name.
But we still want to appear fine and continue being that ideal person who inspires and protects within human limit, so how?

This is my take.
That's fine.
Be as idealistic.
Be as idealistic.
Inspire when you must.
Hide your vulnerability.
Step out of your room and poof! be awesome.
No, salah, be useful. You don't live to become awesome for yourself.
But
But be yourself with Allah.
But be yourself with Allah.
Pour your heart out.
Show that fragile side of you to Him.
Tell Him all your worries, Na.
Because He is a good listener.
And guess what, He doesn't just listen.
He'll help you not to be vulnerable.
and there! you can continue being that person who serves others for the sake of Allah.
